I wrote this for Kirsty, my daughter when she was born. It’s really lyrics to a song and I imagined it sung in a bluesy style as my tongue-in-cheek answer to Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely”. It has actually been sung twice (by professionals) to live audiences.

NEW WOMAN

I done got me a new woman, baby
She don't talk much but she sure make me feel fine
Well sometime she laugh, sometime she cry
She makes my heart fly when she do

I done got me a new woman, baby
And this time I know that its for real
Her hair is soft her skins so fine
She wants me there all through the night, just like you.

Its not that I don't love you baby
Nothings further from the truth
Its just she's got the beauty and the youth

I done got me a new woman, baby
And she's the best gift a man could ever need
A blue eyed girl for my blue eyed son
A daughter makes my world complete, thank you.
